The classics of Nechuj Levytsky's (1838-1918) Ukrainian literature show how secret instincts and individualistic thoughts and opinions lead to moral impoverishment. By I. Franko's definition, this work "in view of the artistic illustration of peasant life and a good literary composition is one of the best depictions of this country's hardships in writing."
