Metropolyt A. Sheptytsky and the Establishment of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in the United States

The author gives a vivid scholarly account of the formation and establishment of the Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church in the United States from 1884-1924. Subsequently, the church was divided into the Ruthenian and Ukrainian Catholic Churches. Metropolitan Sheptytsky’s preeminent role in this process is highlighted throughout. Also included is an addendum of 31 seminal documents, indispensable for the study of the Ukrainian Catholic Church.
